Every day, countless animal species edge closer to extinction due to habitat loss, climate change, pollution, and poaching. Endangered animals are not just distant creatures in far-off places—they're vital parts of ecosystems that affect us all. On this page, you'll learn about the challenges they face, the species most at risk, and how we can take action to protect the wildlife that still has a chance to survive and thrive. (All content on this page was written by kids, including me—I'm the creator of this website!)

Awareness

The Black-footed Ferret

If you could say one thing to the world about why this species matters… what would it be?

"ᡣ𐭩 They are cute, and they manage prairie dog populations ᡣ𐭩." -  Anne, member

The Kordofan and Nubian Giraffe.

Why is it important to protect giraffes, and what are some of the threats they face today?

"Some species of giraffes are endangered because of human farming, leading to the loss of their habitats. Although only two species of giraffes, the Kordofan giraffe and the Nubian giraffe, are critically endangered, there are also a couple more endangered species of giraffes, which are important animals for multiple reasons."  — Maya T, member
